Let's talk about it
Shahana is on a mission to change the way we address mental health and wellbeing in England, particularly in education. With the vision for 'Therapeutic Schools', which has recently been featured on BBC's Newsround, she works with schools across the UK to change their practice and environments to support the children’s emotional and mental health.
Shahana writes a regular segment in Head Teachers Update, the national magazine for primary schools, sharing therapeutic teaching ideas and techniques. She is also a governor of a primary school and sits on two foster care panels. Her own experiences of childhood trauma inform her work, offering a unique perspective based on empathy, understanding and raw truth that supports the conversation around mental health and wellbeing.
