For schools ready to embed the Therapeutic Schools approach and evidence their practice to achieve award status with us
The Therapeutic School Award gives you a clear, structured pathway to embed the Therapeutic School Approach across your entire school.
It turns training into practice with accountability, guidance and a step by step process that helps you make long lasting, meaningful change.
Schools typically complete the award within an academic year, but you can work at your own pace.
Once you submit your evidence and meet the criteria, your school is awarded Therapeutic School Status, complete with a certificate, badge and banner.

Everyone in school will complete our Therapeutic Teaching Course modules throughout the year. These will act as pillars to help initiate change.
Alongside the course you will:
We will support you throughout the process to create and develop plans, stay on track and answer any questions
How is the award hosted?
Everything you need is on our online learning platform, including a specific area for your chosen Therapeutic School Award Lead. This will help them lead on the award and roll it out at your school.
Note: You can sign up to become a member and receive all of the above and more without going through the award process

We want to ensure you can continue to roll out and embed the approach long term. So, once you have completed the TSA we won’t just disappear, you will have ongoing access to our training platform at a yearly fee of just £100 so that you will be able to train all new staff in the approach and ensure continued standards.
You will also have the option to renew your therapeutic school status with us every 2 years. You just need to evidence your continued commitment to the approach.
Finally, you will have continued discounted membership access with us at £500 a year.

This has been the most transformational course we have ever been on!
A whole school approach means upskilling the children too! After all, they are going to need the insight, awareness, and tools to support their own wellbeing and mental health long after school ends. Our lessons help with this and are designed to complement your PHSE lessons.
They are underpinned by the 4 key qualities we believe children need to learn about in order to flourish in life.

Each key quality is taught and explored through written lesson plans for all year groups. It also has 10 Core Happiness Project lessons for year 5+6 which are recorded, ‘plug and play’ interactive sessions with Shahana Knight.
The lessons are:

It helped to teach me how to believe in myself

Director and course creator Shahana blends together her expertise in childhood trauma and behaviour with life experiences and real-world practice. She draws on her own childhood trauma and has worked closely with school staff, children and parents for years whilst developing our approach. Everything we do has been informed by the needs of real people and has children at the heart.
The course is accessed through our online training platform, this allows you to be in control of how you roll out the training in your organisation.
